VISAS AND PASSPORTS

Please note that it can take several weeks to process a Visa Application and early application is recommended. Please also note that the Organizing Committee, or its agents, cannot accept any responsibility in connection with Visa Applications and the normal cancellation policy, for registration fees and hotel deposits, will apply in the event that a delegate is unable to attend the conference due to late submission of their visa application and/or rejection of same.

All nationalities visiting the United States require valid passports. A citizen of a foreign country who seeks to enter the United States generally must first obtain a U.S. visa, which is placed in the traveler’s passport, a travel document issued by the traveler’s country of citizenship.

VISITOR VISAS
Overview
Generally, a citizen of a foreign country w ho wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa. Visitor visas are nonimmigrant visas for persons who want to enter the United States temporarily for business or pleasure. If you are coming specifically for ICLAF 2018 only, the B-1 visa is the visa that you will require. If you also plan to stay over or come early for tourism, you will need a combination B-1/B-2 visa.

April showers may bring May flowers in other parts of the US, but not in San Francisco. We may have one or two quick showers during the month, but for the most part, we’re out of the wet season. You’re much more likely to experience windy days than rainy days in April. So you can use the space in your luggage for a light scarf instead of an umbrella.
